Warming Berry Cacao Smoothie
Smoothies can be a wonderful way to enjoy some wonderful nutrients whilst being very yummy and super quick! However, smoothies are often cold and raw (and full of fructose!) and according to TCM wisdom, the body has to waste valuable energy raising the temperature of the food to allow the digestive processes to work. This can weaken our ‘digestive fire’, and keeping that fire alight is so important, especially for endometriosis wellness!
But sometimes I’m still craving some smoothie goodness in Autumn or Spring, and this recipe has some lovely warming elements to keep the fire alight!
(I also try to drink a warm water with lemon and some ginger powder mixed in alongside or after my smoothie to keep the warmth in my digestion).
Ingredients
(Serves 1)
250ml organic unsweetened plant based milk (I use coconut)
1/3 cup uncontaminated oats
1 Tbsp organic raw cacao
2 tsp Amazonia RAW Nutrients Greens Powder
1 Tbsp coconut oil
2 Tbsp peanut butter or almond butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup organic blueberries - fresh or frozen
Method
Place all ingredients into a food processor/bullet/blender.
Allow ingredients to come down to room temperature.
Blend well.
Enjoy!
